Final week to have your say on the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan
Published Tuesday, 29 October 2024
With only one week left of public consultation on the Greater Regional Adelaide Plan (the Plan), this is your chance to help shape the long-term planning vision for urban, land and housing development across the region.
South Australia has a proud history of successfully embracing change. The State Planning Commission’s vison of how our metropolitan urban form will evolve over the next 30 years builds on that history while looking toward the future.
Population projections anticipate that over the next three decades we can expect Adelaide to grow by as much as 670,000 people, requiring over 300,000 new homes and at least 350,000 jobs.
It’s time to plan for the future now.
After extensive investigations and consultation with community, stakeholders, councils and industry, the Commission has drafted a plan that aims to best serve Greater Adelaide’s projected growth while supporting biodiversity and heritage protection.
The Plan seeks to ensure a consistent supply of affordable land and diverse housing options while offering clear direction to the community, councils and developers on Greater Adelaide’s long-term growth.
It also focuses on preserving green spaces and tree canopies, modernising infrastructure and prioritising environmental sustainability.
The Commission encourages all South Australians to participate in providing their ideas and will carefully consider all contributions.
Now is the time to check out the Plan, read the supporting material, and tell us what you think before 5:00 pm on Monday 4 November.
